![]() You’ve got it all, from the classic beaches and jungles, to pirate ships, jazzy New Orleans swamps, and of course slippy ice flows (complete with the return of the rideable polar bear). It’s a great excuse to thrust our bandicoots into a diverse bunch of themed stages. Dimensions have been shattered, meaning that Crash and Coco-both play identically-need to run through quirky takes on real-life historical settings, all the while evoking the series' glory days. The return of the classic numbering and time travel shenanigans feel like a reflection of developer Toys For Bob's mission statement: bring back classic Crash. Check out Frosty's Game-play Overhaul for Oblivion on the Oblivion Nexus.Jumping to Crash 4 from the N.Sane Trilogy works excellently, as it carries on directly from the third game, Warped. They will definitely make your game more stable. Would start over just to be safe though.Įven if you play vanilla, I highly recommend you download some stability and bug fix mods. Rolling back to a manual save could help, but not sure. I think I'll take your advice on quicksaving, though- I was getting annoyed with having to stop and save every time I made progress that I didn't want to lose (which is pretty often). It may just be my imagination, but the game has been running a bit smoother since as well. I turned off autosaving and deleted any autosaves that were in my saves list, and haven't had any problem with savegame crashes since (I sincerely hope I didn't jinx it). I deleted the corrupted save and the autosave made before that, and went back to the third most recent save I'd made, which was fortunately not too far back, in the Serpent's Trail cave. Fortunately, I seem to have resolved the problem. Ah! Qucksaving is yet another thing I hadn't thought of. Of course doing a hard save every few hours at least is also good. Quicksaving is fast, easy, doesn't break the immersion and I've never had problems with it. My advice is to make F5 your best friend. This is usually when going through a door, the game crashes and surprise the last 4 hours of only autosaves is toast. ![]() Originally posted by jhamric1989:When the game crashes during both a loading screen and auto-save then it will almost certainly be corrupt. ini file resets it the next time I launch the game, if I'm not mistaken.? I can't wrap my head around how that would help, but I'm willing to try it.īack to autosaves- should I turn them off and try to make a habit of saving a lot more often? Oblivion tends to crash and freeze a lot for me, so I already save frequently, but I really just press 'Continue' when I open the game, so I'm certain that it's loaded an autosave once or twice. If you're talking about mods, I don't have any at all. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by load order. If I were to delete the autosave, perhaps all autosaves, and load a save from earlier on that character, would that help? Currently, my most recent save is an autosave, being as the manual save I had made after that was corrupted. I was unaware that autosaves could cause problems. Just use the stability section ( though you can use any of the mods he recommends if you wish) Ah. ![]() To ensure stability, check out Frosty's Oblivion Gameplay Overhaul guide. Also, another thing you could try is deleting your Oblivion ini ( It's located in MyDocuments/MyGames/Oblivion). Yea, Oblivion is a fickle beast.Īlso, if you can, post your load order. If you do I would suggest starting over and not doing that anymore.Īlso, I would avoid loading from saves upon death. I haven't tinkered with anything, because I'm not the most technologically adept, and I don't want to damage my game any further than it may already be damaged. I have Windows 10 on my laptop, and I've heard that Oblivion may not be the most compatible with it, could that be part of the issue? My current save has somewhere in the 160-205 range of hours put in, and is level 28, so I really don't want to have to delete it and start all over again, if that would even help. I have the Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles DLCs downloaded, but I somehow doubt those are causing anything, as they've never acted up in the past. I don't have any mods downloaded, nor do I plan to. I have looked into this topic some, but for everyone else, the it seems to be mods causing the issue. Ingame, I am in the Pale Pass, doing the Lifting the Vale quest, and was not having this problem prior to entering the "Venom of the Serpent" sublocation within Pale Pass- at least, not to my knowledge. I'm unsure if anyone pays attention to things like this anymore, but to anyone who does, I am having some trouble with savegame crashes. |
